Stockland Corp. Ltd. has filed for a planning permit to develop a significant data center campus located at 413 Francis Street in Brooklyn, Melbourne, Australia. This new development is planned for a 22-hectare site, currently occupied by the Brooklyn Distribution Centre, which features 10 warehouses and office space totaling 130,160 sqm. The data center is expected to occupy approximately half of the existing site, replacing three large buildings. The facility will consist of two two-story buildings with a total capacity of 250MW. Stockland has identified this area in Melbourne as having the necessary zoning and capacity for high-voltage power grids and fiber-optic networks essential for data center operations. The company has secured power for approximately 350MW of data center development in Melbourne, including this Brooklyn site and another at Cherry Lane in Laverton.
