Our Story & Vision
Working in the industry since 2001, our founder endured many years with an untransparent and complicated industry to navigate, where sourcing data center capacity was quite a challenge. Cloud as we know it today was non-existing and servers were often hosted on-premises rather than with colocation data centers.
Back then there was no central databases of data centers, very little media coverage and data centers were often locally owned by smaller operators and local telecom providers. Very few companies knew about search engine optimization and social media was not widely adopted in the corporate world either. This made it very hard to research markets for potential data centers.
This challenge spawned the idea of creating a central database, with a map to find nearby data centers. So in 2007 Data Center Map was born, as a spare time project, and later grew in to a full blown business.
We are a small and agile company, always open to feature requests, partnerships and just connecting with peers in our industry.
