Riot Patforms Rockdale

Riot Platforms’ Rockdale Facility is the largest developed Bitcoin mining site in North America, boasting a total capacity of 700 megawatts (MW). Located in Rockdale, Texas, the campus comprises seven buildings: five air-cooled and two deploying immersion-cooling technology—with the latter forming the industry’s largest such installation to date. This dual-cooling setup allows Riot to optimize both traditional and high-performance mining operations at scale.

Construction began in 2020, and the site reached full development by 2023. As of February 2025, Rockdale supports a hash rate of 15.0 exahashes per second (EH/s) and employs 250 full-time local workers, underscoring Riot’s impact on regional job creation and infrastructure growth. The facility’s 500MW of air-cooled and 200MW of immersion-cooled infrastructure is tightly integrated with Riot’s vertically managed power and hardware systems.

The Rockdale campus plays a pivotal role in Riot’s network expansion, contributing to its goal of reaching 36 EH/s across all facilities by the end of 2024. With deep power access, operational redundancy, and a location optimized for industrial-scale mining, Rockdale remains Riot’s flagship asset in reshaping the U.S. Bitcoin mining landscape.
