The Taylor Technology Campus, a joint venture between Big Watt Digital and PowerHouse Data Centers, is a significant hyperscale data center development located on a 664-acre site in Taylor, Texas, within the Austin market.
This project has the potential to support up to one gigawatt (1 GW) of data center capacity, specifically designed to cater to the demands of the AI economy and hyperscale computing.
A key feature of the campus is its planned use of dedicated, behind-the-meter power generation, leveraging natural gas resources. This approach aims to address the critical constraint of reliable power access in Texas, potentially avoiding long delays associated with traditional grid connections.
Power availability at the campus is targeted for the first half of 2028. The development agreement includes specific standards for water use, stormwater management, site design, landscaping, setbacks, lighting, and noise, along with developer-funded improvements to the City of Taylor’s reclaimed-water infrastructure.
The project is expected to bring substantial private investment, employment opportunities, and economic activity to the Taylor region, while being planned with consideration for the surrounding community and local resources.
