The EdgeConneX Arcata - EDCACV01 facility, located at 1296 11th St, Arcata, California, is a colocation data center that serves as a critical terminal for high-speed fiber optic cables. This site connects to a 10,000-mile transpacific fiber optic cable running between the US coast and Singapore, and also serves as a landing station for Echo and TPU cable systems. The data center is part of the Inyo Network’s Digital 299 Project, aimed at enhancing high-speed internet access in Northern California. It provides space, equipment, and bandwidth for rental, featuring a meet-me room for network interconnections. EdgeConneX acquired the property, formerly the Nilsen Feed Company site, in 2020, converting one of its buildings into this "lights out" automated facility. The center is designed for minimal noise and foot traffic, with plans to partner with local agencies and service providers to improve regional broadband access for businesses and residents.
