Kajetany Data Center

FR Investment Poland Sp. z o.o. is planning a 17.6MW data center on a 2-hectare plot in Kajetany, Poland. The proposed facility includes a server room with 8.8 MW computing capacity, powered by eight 2.2 MW generators. The development involves significant infrastructure, including 300,000 liters of diesel storage in underground tanks and an estimated annual water consumption of 13,000 m³.

The project has encountered local resistance, with residents raising concerns about its proximity to single-family homes, noise pollution, and the lack of a comprehensive environmental impact assessment (EIA). Appeals have been filed challenging the commune mayor's decision to allow construction without an EIA, citing potential risks from fuel storage and noise levels that could reach 108 dB at 100 meters.

Environmental experts suggest an EIA is crucial for assessing noise, emissions, groundwater impact, and potential failures. The case is currently under review by the Local Government Appeal Board in Warsaw.
