GDC Melaka (MLK1)

GDC Melaka (MLK1), located in Masjid Tanah, Malacca, Malaysia, is a significant hyperscale data center development by Global Data Centre (GDC). The facility is situated on a 25-acre land site and is designed for a total power load of 100 MW. It will accommodate approximately 3000 racks, with each rack capable of supporting power densities between 33 kW and 100 kW.

The project is being developed in three phases: Phase 1 will deliver 20 MW, Phase 2 will add 40 MW, and Phase 3 will provide another 40 MW. The estimated total investment for the project is USD 800 million. The development timeline includes 3 months for site preparation, followed by 12 months for power and SSU (Substation and Switchgear Unit) installation, and 12-16 months for building construction. Phase 1 is estimated to be completed in 18 months, with subsequent phases extending to 26 and 34 months, subject to local permits and EPC negotiations.
