Yamanashi IT Center is NSW Corporation’s suburban data center located approximately 100 km from central Tokyo, in Fuefuki City, Yamanashi Prefecture. It is designed for high availability and disaster resilience, making it ideal for BCP, DR, and backup operations.
The facility is built on solid granite bedrock with seismic isolation architecture, minimizing risks from earthquakes and liquefaction. It is situated at an elevation of about 430 meters, far from coastal areas, eliminating tsunami risk. Key equipment is installed above the second floor to further protect against flooding.
Power infrastructure includes dual high-voltage feeds, UPS and CVCF systems, and N+1 redundant emergency generators capable of four days of continuous operation without refueling. NSW also maintains priority fuel contracts and plans to introduce solar power to support carbon neutrality.
Security features include ISO/IEC 27001 and 27017 certifications, biometric and card-based access control, surveillance cameras across all floors, and optional private cages. The center is staffed 24/7 by ITIL-certified personnel, with most staff living within 15 km for rapid emergency response.
With approximately 600 racks across 2,000 m² of raised-floor space, Yamanashi IT Center offers carrier-neutral connectivity, redundant cooling, and inert gas fire suppression. It provides a stable, secure, and scalable environment for enterprise-grade IT operations.
