Bullfrog Flats Data Center

Blue Fern Development is proposing a 20MW, 100,000 sq ft data center located in Cle Elum, Washington, within the 1,100-acre Bullfrog Flats master planned community. The project, with an estimated investment of $200 million, is situated near Interstate 90 and benefits from an adjacent Puget Sound Energy substation. The proposed facility will utilize a closed-loop cooling system to minimize water consumption. The site, acquired by Blue Fern in June 2025, has existing zoning for a light industrial business park and residential housing. Cle Elum's city council has introduced a six-month moratorium on new data centers, but it remains unclear if this will affect Blue Fern's development due to a pre-existing development agreement.
