Project Loch is a confidential data center development in Chesterfield County, Virginia, linked to Google’s broader infrastructure expansion. The project is being executed through Aeris Investments LLC, which recently acquired approximately 340 acres near Westchester Commons for $29 million.
The site, known as Watkins Centre South, was rezoned in spring 2025 specifically for data center use. County officials have approved fixed tax agreements for the project, locking in a favorable rate for 30 years, and imposed limits on noise and water usage.
Project Loch is expected to be a multibillion-dollar campus supporting cloud and AI workloads. Specific design details remain under wraps due to non-disclosure agreements, but the land purchases and zoning approvals signal a major hyperscale deployment in the region.
