Meta Aiken Campus

The Aiken Data Center, part of Meta's global infrastructure, represents a significant investment in South Carolina's technological landscape. With over $800 million allocated, the center will support approximately 100 operational jobs post-completion and engage over 1,000 skilled workers during peak construction phases. This initiative underscores Meta's commitment to sustainability, aiming to match the center's electricity use with 100% renewable energy and achieve net zero emissions across global operations.

In line with Meta's sustainability goals, the Aiken Data Center is designed to be water positive by 2030, which involves restoring more water than it consumes. The center will employ advanced cooling technology that surpasses industry standards in water efficiency, utilize native and drought-resistant vegetation, and implement water-saving fixtures and technologies.

Meta's investment extends beyond the data center's infrastructure to the local community. The company plans to source labor and materials locally, support local schools and nonprofits through the Meta Data Center Community Action Grants program, and contribute to STEAM education.
