MARA Hannibal

MARA Hannibal is a large-scale data center campus located in Hannibal, Ohio, developed by Mara Holdings Inc. The facility is built around a 505MW combined-cycle gas turbine (CCGT) power plant, acquired by Mara Holdings, which provides immediate and substantial power access. The site encompasses over 1,600 acres, offering ample space for extensive data center development, with a potential for over 1GW of total power capacity. The initial buildout is planned for the first half of 2027, with an initial 200MW of capacity expected to be operational by mid-2028. Mara intends to expand the site's capacity up to 600MW through grid enhancements and on-site generation. The development aims to be a cornerstone for Mara's AI and High-Performance Computing (HPC) infrastructure strategy, integrating energy generation, fuel supply, and compute resources. The facility will also retain the existing power supply to the PJM grid, ensuring no direct impact on consumers. Mara will also acquire associated rail infrastructure for logistics. The transaction is expected to close by H2 2026.
