Legacy Investing has announced plans to convert the former Heritage Printing Facility at 800 First Street North in Minneapolis, Minnesota, into a 20MW data center. This acquisition marks a significant urban redevelopment project, pairing digital infrastructure with mixed-use components. The 13-acre site, previously home to the Minnesota Star Tribune's printing operations, offers over 500,000 sq ft of space. The development is proceeding despite an ongoing moratorium on data center development in Minneapolis, which is set to expire in November and does not apply to facilities under 350,000 sq ft. Legacy Investing, a real estate firm with a substantial portfolio in industrial, logistics, life sciences, and data center properties across the US, aims to create a next-generation data center as part of a broader master redevelopment plan for the site.
