NE Edge is planning a significant data center development, the NE Edge Waterford Campus, at the Millstone Nuclear Power Station in Waterford, Connecticut. This project involves the construction of two hyperscale data centers totaling approximately 1.5 million sq ft. A key feature of this campus is its direct power connection to the Dominion Energy nuclear facility, operating under a 'behind the meter' agreement. The first building is slated to be 1.14 million sq ft, with the second at 428,000 sq ft. The facilities will employ closed-loop air conditioning to conserve water. NE Edge aims to break ground in mid-2024 and complete construction by mid-2025. This initiative leverages Connecticut's data center tax incentives and represents a unique collaboration between a data center developer and a nuclear power station.
