DirecTV Tucson

The DirecTV Tucson facility, located at 9608 E Old Vail Rd in Tucson, Arizona, is a 14,430 sq ft single-story data center and uplink facility. Constructed in 2007 on a 13.4-acre site, it is described as mission-critical for DirecTV's day-to-day operations and a key part of their technical core, housing essential infrastructure for broadcast signals. The site is occupied by DirecTV, an AT&T-owned satellite TV provider, and was listed for sale in 2024. The facility is part of a network of at least three uplink facilities across the US, each typically comprising primary and backup buildings that work with satellite antennas. These buildings include raised floor data center rooms, office suites, and mechanical/electrical infrastructure. A typical primary building is equipped with dual 3,000 amp utility electric services, 2,000 KW standby generators, and 500 KVA UPS units.
