Deep Green is set to deploy a 400kW edge data center at the Move Urmston Leisure Center in southwest Manchester, marking its first installation in the UK’s Northwest. Housed within a compact 150 sqm space, the facility will feature eight racks with a capacity of up to 60kW per rack, using a combination of direct-to-chip and air cooling technologies.
What sets this project apart is its integration with the leisure center’s infrastructure: the data center’s waste heat will be repurposed to warm the swimming pool, delivering significant energy savings and reducing carbon emissions. Deep Green estimates the system will provide tens of thousands of pounds worth of free heat annually and save hundreds of tons of carbon over its lifetime.
