Lomé Data Centre

The Lomé Data Center is the first carrier-neutral colocation facility in Togo, strategically located in the nation's capital. Developed on a site exceeding one hectare, the center offers 400 square meters of space for private sector use and an additional 100 square meters reserved for government operations. The $23.7 million project was funded through the World Bank’s West Africa Regional Communications Infrastructure Program (WARCIP) and reflects the country's growing digital ambitions as part of its 2020–2025 development roadmap.

The facility is owned by Société d’Infrastructures Numériques (SIN), the state entity responsible for managing Togo’s digital infrastructure, and is operated by Africa Data Centres, a subsidiary of Liquid Intelligent Technologies. It is currently undergoing Tier III certification by the Uptime Institute, underscoring its commitment to international standards of reliability and uptime. This public-private operating model is intended to ensure both operational expertise and alignment with national digital strategies.

Beyond its technical specifications, the Lomé Data Center serves a broader strategic role in Togo’s digital transformation agenda. Officials highlight its importance in reducing international connectivity costs, enhancing resilience across government and commercial services, and supporting the region’s digital economy. The opening was seen as a critical milestone in Togo’s broader modernization efforts, particularly in light of growing demand for secure and sovereign data hosting solutions.
