The MTN Sifiso Dabengwa Data Centre, located in Ikeja, Lagos, Nigeria, marks MTN Business's entry into the Nigerian data center market. Phase I of the facility provides 4.5MW of capacity, accommodating 780 racks, and is designed to meet Uptime Tier III standards. Future expansion is planned, with Phase II potentially increasing capacity to between 14MW and 20MW, contingent on market demand. The total investment for both phases is estimated at $235 million. In addition to colocation services, MTN will offer a local cloud service from this site, having already invested $20 million in cloud infrastructure. This development addresses the growing need for cloud services in Nigeria, where cloud provider presence is limited.
