Pure DC has acquired land in Meco, Madrid, for its first data center development in Spain. The company purchased a 17,650-square-meter site for €11 million, marking its expansion into the growing European market. The facility will have a planned 25MW capacity, though further details have not yet been disclosed.
The site was previously owned by ActivumSG Fund VI, which secured a 25MW power agreement in 2022 and a dual feed connection in 2023 to ensure reliable energy supply. Tech-Stone, a Madrid-based real estate development firm, will oversee the delivery of the project for Pure DC.
Pure DC, backed by Oaktree Capital, currently operates and develops over 250MW of IT capacity across Europe, North America, Asia, the Middle East, and Africa. The company aims to establish a next-generation data center campus in Madrid to meet the increasing demand for data storage and processing power.
