Samsung SDS has acquired the Gumi Plant One site from Samsung Electronics in Gumi-si, Gyeongsangbuk-do, South Korea, for 21.5 billion won ($15.4 million). The facility, originally a manufacturing plant since 1983, has seen reduced utility as production functions moved elsewhere, prompting its sale. Samsung SDS plans to repurpose the site into a data center, expanding its cloud business and strengthening its presence in South Korea.
