The SG5 data centre opened in 2021 on the western side of Singapore. It is a nine-story facility, located at the Tanjong Kling Data Center Park.
The first phase of the SG5 data center provided more than 41,700 square feet (3,970 square meters) of data center space, totaling a capacity of 1,300 cabinets.
The second phase was completed in 2022, bringing the space up to over 83,000 square feet (7,700 square meters) and a capacity of more than 2,950 cabinets.
When fully built out, it will have space for 5,000 cabinets within its total whitespace of 129,000 square feet (12,000 square meters).
The data center is directly connected to the four other Equinix IBX data centers in Singapore, via low latency dark fiber. This enables interconnection with more than 700 companies in the market.
