Equinix's LS2 data center is its second facility in Lisbon, Portugal, strategically located adjacent to LS1 in Prior Velho. This International Business Exchange (IBX) facility was officially launched in June 2024, following an initial investment of €50 million ($57.1M), with a total estimated investment of €100 million ($114.2M).
The three-story facility offers 2,050 sqm (22,065 sq ft) of colocation space and initially supports 625 racks. It is powered by 100% renewable energy and serves as a critical interconnection hub, linking Europe, Africa, and the Americas through major subsea cables, including EllaLink, Equiano, 2Africa, Medusa, and Nuvem.
Equinix's Lisbon campus, consisting of LS1 and LS2, provides over 2,000 interconnections, supporting 100+ enterprise customers, 45 networks, and 4 internet exchanges. The company has also announced plans for a third Lisbon data center by 2027, further expanding its presence in the region.
