VivoPower Mo i Rana

VivoPower has begun the first phase of construction for its 42MW data center located at Mellomvika 15-17, Mo i Rana, Norway. This project involves demolishing existing structures, site preparation, and building the main superstructure. Local contractors are engaged for these initial works.

The Mo i Rana facility is a conversion of a former cryptocurrency mining site, originally built by Bitfury in 2018. VivoPower acquired the site in April. A key feature of the data center conversion is the plan to capture waste heat generated by its cooling systems for reuse. VivoPower is collaborating with a local district heating provider and European specialists to explore applications for this heat, including supplying district heating and supporting heat-intensive industries.

VivoPower has identified a global AI industry leader as its preferred tenant for the facility, though the tenant's identity has not been disclosed. The company is committed to a swift, yet quality and safety-focused, delivery of the data center.
