Equiano CLS Swakopmund

The Equiano CLS Swakopmund data center, operated by Paratus Namibia, is an unmanned facility located in Swakopmund, Namibia. It provides 500sqm of data center footprint within a 1000sqm total facility footprint, equipped with 31 racks, including 20 dedicated to Equiano and Google.

The facility boasts two diverse fiber entry points (South and West) and operates on a carrier-neutral model, hosting various local carriers including Paratus. Power infrastructure includes two 250kVA gensets with 1500-liter diesel tanks for over 24 hours of runtime per generator, a dedicated Erongo Red substation, and a 315kW transformer. Redundancy is further ensured by A/B feed modular UPS systems (150kVA 3Phase) and a 48V/DC rectifier plant with dedicated batteries.

Operational since November 2021, the data center features a secure single point of entry with access control, electrified fencing, and surveillance cameras, manned by separate security companies. Expansion capabilities are available with additional land and power nearby. The facility is conveniently located approximately 50 km from Walvis Bay International Airport. Namibia's stable climate offers a low risk of natural disasters.
