KIO Merida 1 (MER1) is a data center facility that commenced operations in 2017. It features a Tier I design with ISO high cube 40" containers, ballistic resistance level 4 in accordance with UL752, and a total technical floor area of 21 square meters. The facility is equipped with modular 60 kW UPS systems, redundant N electrical equipment, and a 135 kW emergency generator with a 1.5-day diesel reserve. It has an average PUE of 2 and incorporates a Building Monitoring System (BMS) for monitoring the electromechanical infrastructure.
The data center offers carrier-neutral connectivity, with current carriers including Totalplay, Red IT, Metrocarrier, and Megacable. It features advanced fire protection systems, including smoke detectors, VESDA early fire detection, and a double interlock preaction system. Security measures include proximity card access control, 24/7 video surveillance, and dedicated security personnel. The facility has a dedicated NOC for operations and network monitoring and is staffed with qualified personnel available around the clock.
