UNM-IX - Unmetered.Exchange

Unmetered.Exchange is a not-for-profit Internet Exchange Point (IXP) based in Vancouver, BC, Canada. It aims to provide a low-barrier, easy-to-access platform for networks to interconnect. By offering a segmented and open-access Ethernet fabric, Unmetered.Exchange enhances routing performance, increases bandwidth, and reduces latency for all connected networks.

The exchange has multiple access locations, including Burnaby, New Westminster, Campbell River, and Coquitlam. It supports various connection types, such as 1Gbps copper connections and 10Gbps or 100Gbps fiber connections. Participants use the Border Gateway Protocol (BGP) to exchange routing information, ensuring efficient and reliable data transfer.
