Infocom IXP - Infocom Internet Exchange Point

Infocom's Internet Exchange Point (IXP) is a crucial service designed to enhance local internet connectivity in Costa Rica. The IXP allows internet service providers and content companies to interconnect locally, ensuring that data exchange happens within the country rather than routing through international points. This local interconnection significantly reduces latency, improves network performance, and provides faster access to local content.

Membership to the IXP is free for companies affiliated with Infocom, while non-affiliated companies can also join. Active members include American Data, Cyberfuel, Fibernet, JASEC, Liberty, Telecable, Tigo, and Ufinet.
