The Dresden Internet Exchange (DD-IX) is a public Internet Exchange Point (IXP) serving Dresden and the entire Saxony region. Officially founded on October 5, 2023, DD-IX aims to facilitate the economical, ecological, and robust exchange of data over the Internet. By leveraging the unique advantages of an IXP, DD-IX enables direct data delivery between source and destination, reducing latency and improving the efficiency of data transmission.

DD-IX is a non-commercial platform open to all Internet stakeholders interested in multilateral exchange of Internet traffic. Located just 20 kilometers from the geographic center of Saxony, DD-IX offers an ideal foundation for peering with participants in the region over short distances.
