Community-IX is a non-profit internet exchange point (IXP) that connects IP-Transit sponsors with non-commercial projects in Berlin, Frankfurt, and Hamburg. It was created to simplify the process for non-commercial projects to find IP-Transit sponsorship, reducing the effort required for both projects and sponsors. Community-IX operates switches in several data centers, allowing for efficient peering and Layer 2 transport between locations. This setup enables communities and sponsors to focus on their core projects while benefiting from a streamlined connection process.
