Rai Way Pomezia

Rai Way is constructing a significant hyperscale data center campus in Pomezia, south of Rome, Italy. This facility, with a potential investment of €400 million, will cover 140,000 square meters and feature data halls totaling 16,000 square meters across four independent buildings. Each building will house four 1,000 sqm data halls, contributing to a total IT capacity of 35.2MW, with provisions for future expansion. The campus is designed for flexibility to meet hyperscale and cloud customer needs, offering customizable density, layout, and cooling. A 5.5MW photovoltaic plant is pending authorization, with the ultimate goal of 100% renewable energy powering the facility. The strategic location in Pomezia leverages Rome's status as a digital infrastructure hub and its proximity to Mediterranean submarine cable landing stations. This project is a key step in Rai Way's transformation into a modern digital media company and aims to enhance Italy's digital sovereignty and data security.
