MARCONI Supercomputer

The MARCONI Supercomputer, located in Casalecchio di Reno, Italy, is a flagship high-performance computing system introduced by CINECA in 2016. It achieved a ranking of 19th in the Top500 in November 2019. A partition of MARCONI is utilized by the EUROfusion consortium for research into fusion energy development. CINECA leverages MARCONI to provide consultancy services across various sectors, including medicine, meteorology, seismology, and chemistry. The organization also engages in data mining, data warehousing, data management, and experimentation in quantum computing and virtual reality. CINECA operates and maintains multiple accredited data centers, featuring over 2,500 m2 of machine rooms and approximately 5,000 TEP/year. Their state-of-the-art infrastructure and technical expertise enable them to offer IT services that support universities, companies, and public administrations, ensuring business continuity, high security, and disaster recovery capabilities.
