The Leonardo Supercomputer, a pre-exascale Tier-0 EuroHPC system, is hosted by Cineca at the Bologna Technopole in Italy. Ranked 7th globally on the Top500 List, it is co-funded by EuroHPC Joint Undertaking to advance European supercomputing capabilities.
Leonardo features two main partitions: the Booster Module, based on BullSequana XH2135 nodes with NVIDIA GPUs and Intel CPUs, and the Data-centric Module, using BullSequana X2140 CPU Blades with Intel Sapphire Rapids CPUs. The system utilizes NVIDIA Mellanox HDR 200Gb/s InfiniBand connectivity for low latency and high throughput, optimizing AI and HPC application performance.
Cineca manages the state-of-the-art data center infrastructure at Bologna Tecnopolo, ensuring cutting-edge facilities that prioritize performance and energy efficiency.
