Iron Mountain Data Centers CHN-1

Iron Mountain’s CHN-1 data center is part of a two-facility campus located in Ambattur, Chennai, India. The site spans 4.3 acres and is strategically positioned near the city center and Chennai International Airport, offering strong connectivity and logistical advantages.

CHN-1 is scheduled to deliver 23.2 MW of capacity by 2026, with CHN-2 adding another 19 MW by 2028. Together, the campus will feature 16 data halls across nearly 800,000 square feet of AI-ready infrastructure, designed to support high-density workloads and hyperscale deployments.

The facility provides carrier-neutral access to Tier 1 networks and includes Iron Mountain’s full suite of services—remote smart hands, certified engineering support, and a global NOC portal for real-time monitoring and reporting. It meets stringent compliance standards including ISO 27001, SOC 2/3, HIPAA, and PCI-DSS.

Sustainability is a core focus, with the campus matched by 100% renewable energy. Customers can leverage Iron Mountain’s Green Power Pass to claim environmental credits in their own sustainability reporting.
