SEGRO Le Bourget

The SEGRO Le Bourget project, located at 45 Rue du Commandant Rolland in Le Bourget, France, is a proposed 25,300 m² data center development on a 3.7-hectare industrial wasteland. The project includes three technical buildings, 33 emergency generators, and a 75 MW connection power, with an estimated annual consumption of 526 GWh. The project has encountered strong opposition from the new municipal government and local residents due to environmental concerns, including significant energy consumption, CO2 emissions, air quality, noise pollution, and the use of PFAS refrigerants. An environmental authority review highlighted several shortcomings in the impact assessment, particularly concerning power supply, waste heat recovery, air quality measurements, noise studies, and electromagnetic radiation. The project's proximity to residential areas, schools, and nurseries has amplified these concerns, leading to calls for its abandonment or significant revision.
