Alibaba Shanghai (Fengjing)

The Alibaba Shanghai (Fengjing) data center, located in Fengjing town, Jinshan District, Shanghai, is a significant component of the Aspara Cloud Intelligent East China Computing Center. This facility is designed to be one of East China's largest intelligent computing hubs and will utilize Alibaba's in-house developed Zhenwu AI chips, including the Zhenwu 810E. The project, with a total investment of approximately 18 billion yuan, encompasses a total construction area of about 260,000 square meters and a land area of about 243 mu, with plans for 8 data center buildings and 1 comprehensive building. Construction began in March 2022, with the first batch of facilities planned for operation in 2024. The data center will leverage Alibaba Cloud's full lifecycle management of cloud computing data centers and its proprietary core technologies to support Alibaba Group's core business development and technical research in Shanghai. It aims to establish a benchmark for green computing power centers and will assist Jinshan District in building an AI city by supporting digital transformation initiatives and providing IT infrastructure to the public sector.
