Bitdeer Jigmeling

Bitdeer Jigmeling is a significant 500 MW Bitcoin mining data center located in the Jigmeling Industrial Park, Gelephu, Bhutan. Construction is underway, with phased operations expected to commence from mid-2025 and reach full capacity by early 2026. This project is part of a USD 500 million fund partnership between Bitdeer Technologies Group and Druk Holding & Investments (DHI), the commercial arm of the Royal Government of Bhutan. The facility leverages Bhutan's abundant green hydropower, offering lower power costs and higher efficiency for Bitcoin mining, with production costs estimated between USD 30,000 to USD 34,000 per Bitcoin. A unique feature allows the mine to shut down during winter power scarcity. The project is expected to create 120 to 150 local jobs and contribute to Bhutan's economy through revenue sharing, taxes, and electricity sales.
