CDC Wagga Wagga GR-3

CDC Data Centres has proposed a significant data centre development, the CDC Wagga Wagga Campus, located at 216 Ashfords Road, Gregadoo, near Wagga Wagga, Australia. This hyperscale campus is planned to comprise four single-storey data centre buildings, covering a combined gross floor area of approximately 189,325 square metres on a 103.8-hectare site.

The project has an estimated development cost of AUD 15bn and anticipates a total power demand of up to 1.4GW. It aims to support the growing demand for AI compute, data storage, and connectivity, while fostering a regional digital infrastructure and technology sector. The campus will feature a dedicated connection to the existing high-voltage electricity network via a nearby 330kV Transgrid substation, including on-site substations and backup generation.

The proposal includes a rooftop solar photovoltaic array with a capacity of 13.1MWp. Water management strategies are being developed to minimize potable water consumption, with ongoing assessment of cooling technologies. Wastewater solutions are also being planned, as a connection to the reticulated sewer network is not feasible. CDC is working with local authorities and communities to address potential impacts and maximize community and economic benefits, including employment and local supplier development.
