Sharon AI Albury

Sharon AI, an Australian "neocloud" company specializing in AI and cloud computing, has acquired a former industrial site in Ettamogah, Albury. This acquisition marks a potential development for the Border region's first dedicated AI data center, located at 117 R W Henry Dr. The site was formerly the Ettamogah paper mill, previously owned by Visy. Sharon AI, which also operates data centers in Melbourne and Sydney and has headquarters in Sydney and New York, intends to convert the brownfield site into an operational facility. This project is in its early stages, with no formal development applications yet lodged with Albury Council. Visy is expected to continue warehouse operations on the site under a lease agreement with Sharon AI. This expansion aligns with Sharon AI's broader strategy of building AI infrastructure across Australia and internationally, including a gigawatt-scale campus in West Texas.
