Unisys Rhodes Data Center in Sydney is a Tier III facility designed for secure, high-volume and mission-critical IT workloads. It operates 24×7 within a purpose-built five-story structure that includes 1,670 sq. m of raised floor space and supports distributed, midrange, and mainframe platforms. The data center offers managed services such as cloud hosting, virtualization, and disaster recovery, tailored for clients in sectors like government, telecom, and finance.
Its infrastructure includes dual 11kV utility feeds, two 2.5MW generators, and N+1 UPS systems for reliable power delivery. Cooling is managed through redundant CRAC units and chillers, with backup generators covering critical loads. The facility achieves a Power Usage Effectiveness (PUE) of 1.88 and employs advanced fire safety systems, including FM200 gas suppression, VESDA smoke detection, and underfloor water sensors.
Security is reinforced through multi-level access controls, surveillance, and 24×7 guard coverage. A Siemens Building Management System monitors environmental conditions across 400 points, supported by multilingual technical staff and on-site “smart hands” support. Network redundancy, tape vaulting, and off-site storage ensure operational resilience and flexibility for diverse enterprise needs.
