Microsoft SYD05

Microsoft SYD05 is a key component of the Kemps Creek Data Centre Campus, situated at 769 Mamre Road, Kemps Creek, New South Wales, Australia. This expansive campus, also encompassing SYD06 and SYD07, boasts a total operational capacity of 190 Megawatts (MW) across a 14.43-hectare site with a Gross Floor Area of 60,943 square metres. The infrastructure features two parallel, two-storey buildings housing 60 purpose-built data halls. Power is supplied via a dedicated high-voltage electrical switchyard with a direct Endeavour Energy feed. For resiliency, the facility is equipped with up to 250 tonnes of lithium-ion batteries for immediate backup and 62 emergency backup generators, supported by 1,650 tonnes of diesel fuel storage. Advanced cooling is achieved through a direct evaporative system, 480 indoor air handling units, and a combination of air-cooled and water-cooled chillers.
