Prometheus’ Evanston WY flagship (“Project Torch”) is anchored on a ~12,000-acre ranch surrounding a utility substation, with 640 acres set aside for data center development (≈4,100 acres owned and ≈8,000 leased), and a multi-mile buffer with no nearby neighbors. The site is construction-primed (undisturbed land, no remediation, mining-scale earthmoving capability, completed geotech borings, and graded well pads).
On power, Prometheus and a Fortune 500 Independent Power Producer have partnered to deliver 1.2+ GW of reliable, on-site generation with a path to eventual grid interconnection; the buildout is staged to 150 MW by EOY 2027, 450 MW by EOY 2028, and 1.2 GW by EOY 2029, targeting ~99.9% reliability. The land position supports a tenant-directed evolution toward cleaner supply, including up to 1 GW of solar on the ranch, four adjacent wind farms, and an Oklo LOI for a 20-year, 100 MW nuclear PPA (incremental to the on-site program).
Fiber is built around the Northern transcontinental long-haul trunk (East–West), brought onto the campus via ROADMs (on-ramp) with up to 400G service agreements today and an 800G-capable long-haul path as switching matures; dark fiber is available, and 10 empty 2-inch interconnection ducts enable expansion up to ~17,280 pairs. Network diversity is emphasized (multiple providers, 3 physical networks / 5 routes), and Lumen’s analysis highlights hyperscaler-grade fabric compatibility and ~14ms round-trip latency to a West Coast data center.
