Digital Power Optimization

Digital Power Optimization (DPO) is developing a 20MW high-performance computing (HPC) data center in Wisconsin Rapids, Wisconsin. The project, with an estimated cost of $200 million, is slated to be energized in 2026.

DPO has partnered with Consolidated Water Power Company (CWPCo), a subsidiary of Billerud, to secure land and a firm power supply. CWPCo operates 32MW of hydroelectric power assets, and the data center will utilize 20MW of this capacity.

The facility is designed to support artificial intelligence (AI) computing and leverages DPO's strategy of "leveraging underutilized land, infrastructure, and power" to expedite deployment compared to hyperscale projects. The site is located on approximately 15 acres.

An investor consortium led by Salutem Capital funded the pre-development phase. Stantec is providing consulting and engineering support, and DPO is working with the City of Wisconsin Rapids and state agencies to finalize construction plans and permits.
