Meta Beaver Dam - Building 1

Meta is constructing a significant data center campus in Beaver Dam, Wisconsin, with an investment exceeding $1 billion. This facility, located in Alliant Energy's Commerce Park, approximately 40 miles northeast of Madison, will span 700,000 sq ft and is designed to support expanding AI workloads.

Scheduled for operation in 2027, the Beaver Dam campus will be Meta's 30th globally and 26th in the U.S. The project incorporates nearly $200 million in energy-infrastructure upgrades by Alliant Energy, including new substations and transmission enhancements, to ensure robust power supply. Meta is also contributing $15 million to local energy-cost assistance programs.

The data center will employ dry-cooling technology to minimize water consumption. Meta has committed to restoring 100% of the water used and will partner with conservation groups to restore 570 acres of wetlands and prairie, preserving about 175 acres long-term. The construction phase is expected to create up to 1,000 skilled-trade jobs, with over 100 permanent positions anticipated post-completion, fostering economic development in Dodge County.
