Meta Beaver Dam

Meta is investing over $1 billion to construct a 700,000 sq ft data center campus in Beaver Dam, Wisconsin, located in Alliant Energy's Commerce Park, approximately 40 miles northeast of Madison. This facility, Meta's 30th globally and 26th in the U.S., is slated to be operational in 2027 and is engineered to support expanding AI workloads, adhering to LEED Gold standards.

The project includes nearly $200 million in energy-infrastructure upgrades by Alliant Energy, such as new utility substations and transmission enhancements, to ensure reliable power for the data center and surrounding communities. Meta is also contributing $15 million to Alliant's Hometown Care Energy Fund for local energy-cost assistance.

The Beaver Dam campus will utilize dry-cooling technology, significantly reducing water consumption for cooling operations. Meta has committed to restoring 100% of the water consumed and will partner with conservation groups to restore 570 acres of wetlands and prairie around the site, with about 175 acres preserved long-term.

This project is estimated to create up to 1,000 skilled-trade jobs during peak construction and over 100 permanent positions, contributing to economic growth in Dodge County.
