Microsoft Fairwater 1 Campus, located in Mt. Pleasant, Wisconsin, is a state-of-the-art AI datacenter designed as a "superfactory" for training and operating large-scale AI models. This facility houses hundreds of thousands of NVIDIA Blackwell GPUs and GB200 NVL72 systems, engineered for high-density computing and significantly reduced latency through liquid cooling and a flat network architecture. The "superfactory" concept extends to interconnected AI WANs, creating a unified and flexible system for diverse AI workloads. The Wisconsin site, spanning 315 acres, is a multibillion-dollar project set to be operational in early 2026 and serves as a global blueprint for AI infrastructure. Sustainability is a key focus, employing closed-loop liquid cooling to minimize water consumption. Fairwater is purpose-built to support the entire AI lifecycle, from training and fine-tuning to reinforcement learning and synthetic data generation.
