Ridgeline Facility

The Ridgeline Facility is a proposed large-scale data center and natural gas power plant complex located between the towns of Thomas and Davis in Tucker County, West Virginia. Developed by Virginia-based Fundamental Data LLC, the project spans approximately 500 acres and is designed to operate off-grid, powered by a 1,656 MW natural gas-fired plant with diesel backup systems.

The facility is intended to support energy-intensive computing workloads, potentially including artificial intelligence and high-performance computing. While the company has not disclosed detailed specifications of the data center itself, public statements suggest it could become one of the largest data center campuses in the world, with long-term plans to expand across 10,000 acres in Tucker and Grant counties.

The project has drawn significant public attention and controversy due to:
