Prologis has received a preliminary recommendation from the Loudoun County Planning Commission to move forward with a data center development in Sterling, Virginia. The project would transform a 268,700-square-foot parcel of flex-warehouse land into a purpose-built data center campus, pending final approval and rezoning from ‘General Industrial’ to ‘Industrial Park.’
If approved, the site could support up to 600,000 square feet of data center capacity, along with a dedicated five-acre substation to meet power demands. The plan also includes increasing the allowable floor area ratio to accommodate larger-scale infrastructure, further cementing Sterling’s role within Virginia’s dominant data center corridor.
Prologis, a global logistics and industrial real estate firm, has committed to expanding its data center footprint as part of a broader 10GW pipeline planned over the next decade. This Sterling proposal marks its continued efforts to convert warehouse assets into high-performance digital infrastructure across Northern Virginia.
