Amazon Data Services has acquired three office buildings in Sterling, Loudoun County, Virginia, for $26.4 million. The properties, located in the Loudoun Tech Center business park near Route 28 North, span nearly 12 acres and include a total of approximately 128,694 square feet of office space. This acquisition is part of Amazon's ongoing expansion in Northern Virginia, a region known for its high concentration of data centers. While specific plans for the buildings have not been disclosed, the purchase aligns with Amazon's strategy to strengthen its cloud infrastructure in key locations.

Amazon announced plans to demolish nine office buildings across three sites in Sterling, Virginia, to make way for four new data centers. These facilities will span over 900,000 square feet in total. The redevelopment includes two data centers at the Ridgetop Circle location. This initiative is part of Amazon's broader strategy to expand its data center footprint in Northern Virginia, a region known as a global hub for data centers.
