On October 2, 2008, OnePartner officially launched the Advanced Technology & Applications Center (ATAC) in Duffield, Virginia. The measure of Data Center resiliency (availability) is called the “Tier rating system”. These standards are administered by The Uptime Institute (http://uptimeinstitute.org).
Tier I
Tier I is composed of a single path for power and cooling distribution, without redundant components (99.671% availability).
Tier II
Tier II is composed of a single path for power and cooling distribution, with redundant components (99.741% availability).
Tier III
Tier III is composed of multiple active power and cooling distribution paths, but only one path active, has redundant components, and is Concurrently Maintainable (99.982% availability).
Tier IV
Tier IV: composed of multiple active power and cooling distribution paths, has redundant components, and is fault tolerant (99.995% availability).
The Uptime Institute exclusively contracts ComputerSite Engineering to conduct thorough reviews of a data center for the certification process. Other data center’s Tier claims, without the Certification, are without merit, leaving their clients at risk.

There are no Certified Tier IV commercial facilities, thus the OnePartner ATAC has the highest commercial Certification.
