Google Wood Haven Technology Park

Google is exploring the development of a data center campus at the Wood Haven Technology Park, located in Roanoke County, Virginia. This planned industrial park spans 111 acres and features 54 acres of prepared land with utilities. The company confirmed its interest, alongside the Western Virginia Regional Industrial Facility Authority (WVRIFA). Google has extensive experience in data center development and aims to be a long-term partner in the Roanoke Region. The due diligence and inspection period for the Wood Haven site is scheduled to conclude in March 2027, with entitlements anticipated by September 2027. While details regarding the data center's size and capacity are not yet available, the project has generated local concerns about potential noise, water usage, and real estate impacts. This potential development is separate from Google's existing and planned data center projects in Botetourt County and Chesterfield County, Virginia.
